The Immunization Coalition of Summit County was formed in 1991 in response to a national trend to focus on childhood immunizations. The primary mission is to increase the number of children who are fully immunized against preventable childhood diseases by the age of 2. The coalition consists of representatives from the Ohio Department of Health, Summit County Health District, Akron City Health Department, Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, Barberton Health District, Family & Children First, Glaxo Smith Kline, Medimmune, Sanofi Pasteur, Wyeth, Merck, Ohio Registry and the Atlantic Management Center, Inc. |
